So one of the coolest nights that we spent in Tokyo was when we joined Eyexplore Tokyo for their “Tokyo Vertigo” tour. I’m a big fan of taking photo tours with locals whenever I’m in a new place and this one was one of the best tours I’ve been on. Not only did we get amazing, unique views of the city by hoping from rooftop to rooftop, but our tour guide, Axel was awesome! He was just so passionate about teaching photography and showing off his city. I really felt like I learned a lot from him. He’s also a super cool and friendly guy too. So if you’re ever in Japan, I’d definietly recommend looking them up.

When I go to Taiwan I love to get my hair washed at the hair salon. You can’t do that in the states without getting a haircut or something but you can get your hair washed for less than $5 USD. It’s like a hair wash and head massage all at the same time and I LOVE getting my head massaged. So really it’s a dream and then have they blow dry and style your hair for you after all is done.

This one particular time I was talking to the guy who was washing my hair, just small talk stuff but he could tell I’m not from Taiwan. He asked where I was from and I said America. He immediately goes “ohh Kobe Bryant!” and I was like, “yes Kobe Bryant! Do you know how to say anything else in English?” He didn’t. HAHA

Guess what! Tomorrow is my birthday! August 29th 🙂

I’m one of those people who love celebrating birthdays and I always thought it was really cool that it’s also Michael Jackson’s birthday. Me and the king of pop.

But going through Facebook and things I’ve noticed quite a few of my photo friends also celebrate their birthdays this week. I think that’s so awesome! The way that I think of it, there must be some sort of correlation between creatives and being born around this time of the year. HAHA. Or am I taking this birthday thing a little too far?

Here are 3 things that made me super happy this past week:

1. Early birthday celebrating with the family at Lake Anna this past week. I had a blast just hanging out and soaking in the sun.

2. Wakeboarding! Never in my life had I thought I’d wakeboard but it was super fun. Can’t wait to do it again sometime soon

3. And then THIS!!!
