3 Things I was grateful for this week
Preparing for our trip to Tokyo this weekend! I can’t wait. We have a few plans already like a reservation to the Robot Restaurant. If you haven’t seen that Anthony Bourdain episode of Japan, you totally should check it out! It looks trippy. Otherwise, I’ve been busy preparing blog posts for while I’m gone. So even though I’ll be away, it will be like I never left 🙂 I also plan on updating my instagram with some behind the scene travel images, so follow me there if you aren’t already.
This image is from my trip to Iceland a few years ago. Preparing blog posts for Japan made me go back through some older travel photos. I this one is particularly cool with all the shilouttes.
Spent a beautiful morning wondering around the Smithsonian Gardens behind the castle. Such a beautiful place with not many people around.
Pro tip: another great place to catch the cherry blossoms when they bloom.
For now, they have these amazing magnolias trees. It was like flower heaven.
You know it’s spring when you start seeing these bloom. If cherry blossoms are the official flowers of spring in the DC area, then I think magnolias are the second runner up. They’re everywhere and they’re so big and beautiful. I’ve even heard a few tourists ask if these were cherry blossoms. No… but they’re just as beautiful 🙂
Is it wrong to say that this reminds me of House of Cards? Is it also a mistake to say that Andrew and I have already finished the 4th season? Man, I hope we don’t have to wait another year to find out what happens next to the Underwood campaign.
Three things I was grateful for this week:
1. Finding out that I’ll be in time for the cherry blossoms in Tokyo! Can’t freakin’ wait for our trip.
2. See you next year, snow.
3. Being able to rest this weekend. I’ve been sick all week 🙁
