AMAZING!!!
Beautiful photo, Angela, and one of the reasons I really miss DC: Running around the mall at dawn and seeing the reflection of the rising sun against these iconic structures.
Thank you so much Bruce! Maybe I’ll see you out there one day
Thank you Shannon
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
That is absolutely stunning…..Awesome Photo!!!
That’s the shot I’ve been trying to get for a while! Mind if I ask how you got it (settings)? See http://www.flickr.com/photos/josephgruber/6569344535/ for a Vietnam Wall reflection photo from Christmas.
Gorgeous shot. Curious how much post-processing did you have to do to that shot and what program(s) did you use? Keep up the great work.
Wow Angela, this is a beautiful image! My only gripe is that it doesn’t open big enough to do it proper justice! Well done.
Simply Incredible Angela – It is wonderful how you were able to make such an already moving scene just that much more endearing. Thank you! I hope I will be able to treasure to continue looking at this often.
your photo was featured on our “advice to be garnered” segment today. thanks for providing the inspiration!
This was one of the most beautiful photographs I have every seen. I counsel combat Veterans–mostly Vietnam Vets…so, I purchased this photo to hang in my office to honor them–the first photograph I ever purchased. Very nice work.
You probably know this picture is making the facebook rounds. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Absolutely Beautiful!!! Thank you Angela..
BREATH TAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!
My sister posted this photo on FB. I don’t know how she found it but I am so glad she did. I’m going to add it to my collection of D.C. monument photos. It’s absolutely stunning. Thank you so much. Look forward to following your work.
Angela,
This is the most beautiful picture of the Wall that I have ever seen! It makes me cringe to admit that I take pictures when I see something this good.
You may be interested to know that I have traveled to 49 of the 50 states honoring Vietnam memorial sites. I have probably been to 300 sites. I then post the pics and write about them on the above listed site. I will use your picture as a goal to strive for in the future!
Would it be too presumptuous of me to ask if this is an HDR pic? I ask because, just today, I took a course on HDR and am anxious to get going on it.
Thank you taking, posting it, and inspiring me to keep at it,
Mike
Shots like this can’t be planned/staged – it is simply being in the right place at the right time of day. Truly honors my fallen brothers and sisters. A million “Thank You”s from those who are still with us!
This photo was posted on the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association page on Facebook and it certainly evokes a lot of emotion for us. From all of us – Thank you for sharing your beautiful photography.

Angela, I am a Vietnam Vet. I been to The Wall many times, and I’ve see a lot of photos of The Wall, but this is by far the best I’ve ever seen. They had this on WJLA on Friday I believe. I was amazed when I saw it. I wanted to see it again, and they said you could go to their website to see it. I went to the website and it wasn’t there. So I emailed them and STILL haven’t heard from them, but because I have them on Facebook, it showed up on their Facebook site today.
Thank you for a really great shot!
Truely a moving picture that is about as perfect as can be. You have a great eye for composition and colors. Thank you so much for sharing this will all.
There are no words to describe the emotions this picture brings. Breathtakingly Beautiful but also Disturbingly Beautiful.
Do you recall around what time the sky looked like that? I’m trying to get out there soon to get some awesome shots. I LOVE this!
Thank you Denise!

As a combat Vietnam Veteran, I was at “The Wall” for it’s dedication in 1982. I’ve not missed many years of being there, on Veterans’ Day since. The designer of “The Wall”, Maya Lyn, brought so much meaning to what “The Wall ” respresents to America. Never before has a memorial been so personalized before, as this one. There’s spirit that lives within the black granite wall’s. A black scar, carved out of the earth, hidden away from plain sight, as America at that time, during civil unrest, atested to the ongoing apathy, it displayed toward the war. Your photograph has captured the color of the war in our minds, that was fought there. The splashes of color on “The Wall” depics the fire, and devastation of war, that we experenced, that still resonates in our minds today. The darken clouds reminds me of the gloom of war, cast upon “The Wall”. This is a highly dramatic moment, captured in nature’s description of war. This is one of the moments in time when the earth stood still. Thank you, Angela, for being there, at that moment…
