For the past few days, all I’ve been thinking about is the summer. Plans to go to the beach, family fun times, and where my next adventure will lead me. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring you all some interesting and fun images this summer, images that are not all DC.

So heres one I took earlier this year in Yosemite Naitonal Park. It had rained all morning and the skies were looking crazy with the clouds.

Finally, the water lilies have bloomed. I’ve been waiting for this day for two months now and I can’t believe how tall they are. They were probably up to my elbow. I always thought water lilies were just above the water surface. Is that just a different breed?

Out of all the times I’ve been to the Jefferson Memorial (here and here), I’ve never been that pleased with my interior shots. Although all those columns let in natural light, the staute itself is pretty dark and its pretty difficult to capture it with a handheld camera. I figured the only way I could do it was to go really early in the morning, when no tourists are there, and hopefully get a few shots in with my tripod before Capitol Police caught me. It took them about 10 minutes to figure out I was there but I was lucky to get a few shots in before I had to put away my tripod.
