Hi Everybody!!

Hope you all had a great week and an awesome Labor Day! It’s been raining the past week here, so its been a little difficult taking new images. So, I made a video about it! Check it out:

Now, here are my images.
I spent a day in Rehoboth Beach over the weekend and found this very cool, very blue Vespa
Then I had to look back at some of my older images for this US Capitol shot and
Jefferson Memorial.
I finally braved the rain and visited Meadowlark Gardens for some macro images. Pink Flower Water Droplets
Now, I just can’t wait for the leaves to start changing. This image was taken last year around this tme of Shenandoah National Park

FamousDC is doing an awesome tribute to 9/11 next week where they are asking everyone to send them in pictures of American flags around the DC area. Here’s my contribution:

Hope you all had a great week and hopefully I’ll be back next week with some sunny images 🙂

When I went to McKee Beshers last month, I was really excited about shooting the field of sunflowers. When I got there, I found that getting close-ups of the flowers were much more interesting. It could of been the lack of color in the sky but here’s the first one I took. Next year I definitely want to go more than once so I could try to get the sky I’m look for. I’m kinda disappointed that I only went once this year.

This morning I woke up early and headed out to Southern Maryland for a sunflower field! How exciting. I’ve been planning this trip for so long and this week is finally the peak of the flowers. When I actaully got there, I was so excited, but kinda surprised how short it was, it went up to my waist. I thought it would be taller than me.

Did you know that my mom loves gardening? Ever since I could remember she’s always had a garden where she spends hours growing flowers, vegetables, and who knows what else. She has a real appreciation for plants and natural beauty.

So, when I told her about all the botanical gardens that I’ve been going to recently she wanted to come. I took her to Meadowlark Gardens and she loved it. We walked around and she pointed out all the beautiful flowers and plants, it definitely made my job a lot easier. It was a fun morning being able to do something we both like.

I tried to avoid the Cherry Blossom festival this weekend. I knew there would be TONS of people in DC and I wanted to try to avoid most of the crowd. I have big plans of going to DC this week to shoot these amazing trees. So watch out for them.

In the meantime, I went to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA to practice my flower shots.

Here’s a picture I never got around to posting before. Its from one of the first time’s I had out to DC for some night shots.

I had no idea there were going to be some many people out. (I’m used to shooting a lot earlier in the morning.) In a weird way, it was a blessing. If so many people hadn’t been out, taking tourist pictures, sitting on the steps, and chatting with their friends, I would have never walked along the sides of the building. I found a little bit of peace stepping away from all the people and took this shot.

Looking up at the columns of the Lincoln Memorial is pretty amazing. You start thinking about who built the building and all the history behind it. It’s a pretty cool place to just sit back and appreciate history.
