It’s a fun time in DC now. Spring is here which means the cherry blossoms are here! It seems like everyone in the DC area meet up by the Tidal Basin to enjoy the weather and flowers.

I went over to the Jefferson Memorial to check out the area. To be honest, I have never been inside the actual memorial and it was pretty cool. Luckily I was there just in time for the sunset. Prepare to see more of the Jefferson Memorial, cherry blossoms and tidal basin soon.

merced river, yosemite, california, landscape, angela b. pan, abpan

We got a little lost on our way to valley view, so we walked around for a little bit and I captured this image of the Merced river. This river runs throughout Yosemite and it is beautiful. In some parts there are huge rocks laying in the river, little water falls, and a whole bunch of twists and turns. Definitely one of my favorite parts of Yosemite.

half dome, yosemite, fog, trees, california, hdr, angela b. pan, abpan

This was one of the last shots I took in Yosemite. We would always drive by it because it was on our way back to the lodge and I always meant to stop and take a pic. For some reason it never happened until the very last day. I think it was worth the wait though. I love how the clouds have an opening for Half Dome, it looks kinda majestic 🙂

Yosemite National Park offers this great photo walk by the Ansel Adams Gallery which takes you around Cooks Valley. If you have any interest in photography, I would highly recommend this walk. The leader of this tour is very knowledgable in photo and points out very interesting details about the park photography itself. I can definitely say I learned a lot in that hour and a half.

Here’s a reflection of Cooks Valley shot taken while I was on the photowalk.

alcatraz, prison, hdr, black and white, san francisco, california, angela b. pan, abpan

My first black and white HDR. What do you think? I felt like an image of the Alcatraz prisons seemed pretty appropriate for black and white.

If you are ever in San Francisco, I’d recommend Alcatraz for a rainy day. Each ticket comes with an audio tour and you get to hear the point of view of a guard and inmate. It’s pretty interesting, especially solitary confinment.

Have a great weekend!
🙂
