Washington DC

I have never been to the National Musuem of the American Indian and to this day I still haven’t, but it has the most interesting architecture of the National Mall. One of the best things about being a photographer is getting to explore new places like this.

For Christmas, my wonderful boyfriend bought me the S95. I broke previous point-and-shoot camera over the summer and felt a little empty without one. I love this camera. Not only does it allow manual features, it also does HDR.
Here’s my first HDR image with the S95 at Georgetown Cupcake in DC. I remember this place when it was just a little store where you could barely sit. Now its a full on shop with lines around the corner for these cupcakes. I’m so glad to see this place grow.

I’ve been practicing my interior images a lot lately. It is definitely different than shooting outdoors because there is less available light and I’m not allowed to use tripods most of the time.
So here’s an image of the National Cathedral stained glass windows. I’ve shot here before, seen here, but I knew I wanted to come back when light was pouring through the windows. This weekend was the perfect opportunity because it was cold, but very sunny.
