Did you know that my mom loves gardening? Ever since I could remember she’s always had a garden where she spends hours growing flowers, vegetables, and who knows what else. She has a real appreciation for plants and natural beauty.
So, when I told her about all the botanical gardens that I’ve been going to recently she wanted to come. I took her to Meadowlark Gardens and she loved it. We walked around and she pointed out all the beautiful flowers and plants, it definitely made my job a lot easier. It was a fun morning being able to do something we both like.
Every year, Vienna, VA has a festival called Viva Vienna. It’s a really fun event for familys and kids of all ages. I was excited to find out that it was going on during Memorial Day weekend. I wasn’t excited about the games, food or anything like that. I wanted to go at dark for some cool night shots.
My favorite part of this image is the carousel operator sitting in the middle. It would be really hard to see him if this was a short exposure, but I wanted to get the light traveling so this was 15 seconds long.

I went to the US National Arboretum for the first time. Although I didn’t get to spend that much time there, I saw some beautiful flowers, like these purple ones.
The same day I went to the Arboretum, I borrowed a 70-200mm lens from my local camera store (See my lens review here). I knew exactly where I wanted to go to go. Check out this view of the DC Monuments at sunrise.
Although I woke up everyday this past week for sunrise, the sun was not coporating! The last nice sky was Wednesday, I was busy all day Thursday and Friday, so I had to resort to some of my old images. The first one was from Yosemite National Park in March. There was still a little bit of snow and you can see in this Merced River image. The second “older” image is from Alexandria, VA when I went to visit Mt. Vernon in February. It’s an image of MOOOO Cows eating.
I am so lucky to have been featured in two blogs this week. The first was FamousDC.com where I had an image of the Jefferson at sunrise.
and then TheHungryMuse.com featured some of my images to give an awesome review about the awesome food in awesome Vegas.
Hmmm.. What else I think that may be it. Hope you all have a great holiday and see you back here on Monday! Angela
This image is from when I visited Mt. Vernon in February, check out the image here.
Right when I walked over to these cows they started staring at me. Usually I wouldn’t be scared but they were seriously staring me down. About 1 minute later a truck came by and this nice woman fed the cows. Thats why they were staring at me! They thought I was going to feed them. As soon as that hay landed on the ground they were taring at it. The cows forgot all about me and I was able to snap this image.
Did you know that this was called Mather Gorge? Me neither! HAHA
This was taken a little while ago in Great Falls (see my other image from this day here). I’ve taken a lot of pictures in Great Falls because I feel like it is the most natural, prettiest place in the DC area. What do you think of them? Honest opinions please. Thank you!
Hey Everyone! Hope you all had a great week! I did 🙂
Here’s what’s been going on: I was at the US Botanical Gardens and posted a few pictures: Pink Orchid and Name that Flower. Name that flower has still remained nameless so if you know, please comment below! The flower is beautiful!
