Happy Weekend!
Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend. This past week has been a really fun for me. First off, I filmed a new video about 4 essential lenses for nature, landscape, and travel photographers:

Here are my images from the past week:
One of my favorite Great Falls images I’ve taken to date.
Here’s a rather cloudy shot of the Capitol, the morning after Hurricane Irene.
When I think about Cozumel, I think about this.
Towards the end of the week, I decided to practice my macro. I think its really important to be good at various types of photography. So, heres an image of two red flowers. Then I posted my very first water droplet image!

Last week State of NOVA was so awesome and posted my image from Old Town Alexandria.

I am so lucky. As soon as I walked into Meadowlark Gardens today, I saw a man walking with a tripod. I said Hi and found out his name is William B. Folsom. He’s the Meadowlark Garden photographer and teaches many classes on photography. Seriously, how much luckier could I get. We walked around and I watched him take pics of dragonflies and heshowed me all the great flowers in the garden. He also talked a lot about lighting and things to look for when shooting flowers. Thank you so much William for showing me around. I am so happy with all the images I came out with and I’m so excited to go back again soon.

So, the hurricane wasn’t all that I thought it was going to be. It was kinda disappointing. I thought after the storm passed I’d get all these crazy beautiful skies, but it just didn’t happen. This is the morning after Irene. The weather report called for clear skies, but I thought, how could it possibly be clear?

Have I ever told you that Great Falls is one of my favorite spots to take pictures of in the Washington DC metro area. I’m pretty sure I have, because its my FAV!

I came here knowing I was going to take this shot. Recently, I’ve been climbing rocks and avoiding water puddles to try to get some closer up shots of the falls, but I had none that were from the look out areas. It’s funny because thats what most people think of when they think of Great Falls, the areas where you’re suppose to be, not climbing rocks and avoiding puddles. I must confess though, I did jump over the overview fence, despite the clear sign that says not to. I just wanted to get a better shot. Can you blame me?

If you made it this far… it’s my birthday! YAYAY! Go Virgos!!
