California

ft. baker, california, northern ca, san francisco, golden gate bridge, sunrise, sausalito

People in California are so nice. It’s a little bit weird, coming from the east coast, people are usually too busy with what they are doing that they have no time to be friendly.

The first time I came to Ft. Baker to take this image, I didn’t know how to get closer to the water. I saw a man walk past and asked him for suggestions. He was so nice he offered to help me down the rocks and when I said, “not thats ok”, he said he’d wait for me to climb down to make sure I was ok.

East coasters- how crazy is that? West Coasters- is everyone that nice?

tunnel view, three brothers, yosemite, el capitan, Bridalveil Falls

Tunnel View was by far my favoritest view in Yosemite National Park. While we were in the park, it had rained one day and kept on going until the next morning. I tried to go out to shoot but everything was covered by clouds.

Part of being a photographer is being patient and waiting for the perfect moment. We came back to this spot about 2 hours after we our initial try and it was the perfect. What do you think?

redwood creek, muir woods, hdr, moss, abpan, california, angela b. pan photography

While I was driving to Muir Woods, just outside of San Francisco, I didn’t know if I’d like it or not. I knew I would see huge Redwood trees, but really, whats so great about that?

It’s hard to give you a perfect description of it, but its amazing.

I entered the park and spent the first 10 minutes just staring at Redwood Creek. Its hard not to because the water looked so pretty flowing over the green moss that lined the rocks along the creek.

Be sure to follow my blog on your favorite RSS reader or Facebook to see more images of Muir Woods and Redwood Creek.

San francisco, california, hdr, city hall, dome, architecture, interiors, abpan, angela b. pan

It rained while I was in San Francisco (surprise, surprise), so I spent a day shooting the interiors of the city. Since I’ve recently toured the Capitol in DC (seen here and here), I thought it would be fun to compare it to San Francisco’s City Hall.

Fun Fact: This is the largest dome in the United States. It even beats the US Capitol building.

One thing that I really like about City Hall is the fact that it is open to the public. People are free to walk almost anywhere, without being escorted. I even saw a wedding take place which was a sweet surprise.

I’m back from northern California and I loved it! I would love nothing more than to spend more time there, so be prepared to see a lot of the west coast.

When people say Yosemite is magical, please believe them. I don’t think I’ve said “WOAH” so much in my life. The best part was riding shotgun in the rental car and just looking out the window. Every turn had something new and exciting to see.

Here’s an image I took at the very end of my trip in Yosemite National Park of El Capitan and Three Brothers right after a rain storm.
