Studying the Lincoln Memorial architecture in the snow, I was just in time to catch the airplane flying over. The first time it flew over, I was lucky. Then I knew I could expect them to come every 10-ish minutes because the flights weren’t delayed due to snow. YAY!

CRAZY foggy morning last week. I was so excited when I saw this. I’ve NEVER seen the monument like this before.

So, a lot of people have been asking me where I was standing when I shot this. Its funny because I was just standing at the Tidal Basin. Nothing really special or unusual. So many people commented thinking that I was up in the air somewhere, flying a drone or maybe even at the old post office. Nope. Just standing on beautiful planet earth when I captured this.

Today may be the first wintery weather of the season. I say that if it’s going to be wintery weather, it better be the good kind. Either not enough snow to cover the roads OR so much snow that you’re stuck home for a week. To be honest, it probably not even going to be anything at all.

This is the kind of snow I like! The kind where its on the trees and not on the roads. The kind where it makes everything so peaceful and calm. I know I wasn’t excited about it yesterday but I’m glad we got this last bit of snow before the warmer weather.

Three things I was grateful for this week:

1. YAY March is finally here!
2. Amazing colorful sunrises
3. My amazing graphic designer friend, Anelise for helping me with some website updates. Can’t wait til everything is complete 🙂 She’s the bomb, in case you didn’t know.

One of my favorite things to photograph in DC while its snowing is the white-on-white. White snow with the “white” memorials. It’s so simple and beautiful.

While walking around the other day I saw the WWI memorial out of the corner of my eye and made my way over there. It’s a memorial that’s not photographed often but it’s definietly not one to pass up. I got the standard shots of the memorial with the trees surrounding it but it wasn’t until I stepped into the memorial with the beautiful columns and trees that I got really excited.
