This photo was shot at Burke Lake Park. Most of the park was closed due to the snow and I’m pretty lucky that it was or else I would of never found this spot. It was gorgous with the snow blanketing the golf course and the sunsetting behind the trees.
Expect to see a few more Thunderstorm pics in the next few days.

Yesterday was an exciting day for a lot of people in the DC metro area. We finally got some decent snow, anywhere between 5-10″. This year the weatherpeople dubbed it “Thundersnow”.

I went back to Great Falls National Park this morning. I wasn’t completely happy with the previous shoot because it got cut short, which you can see here. It was at least 10 degrees warmer so a lot of the ice had melted which made the water level a lot higher. I think that’s where all the color in the water comes from.
I’m really starting to like blogging now. It’s sort of a challenge that I give myself to post a new pic every weekday. The best part is getting feedback (positive or constructive) and its a great way to see my progression as a photographer.
So, please let me know what you think of my second attempt at “Icy Great Falls”. Which one do you like better?

Even in the middle of winter, a bird’s gotta eat.
Or at least, I think he was trying to find a fish.
A little while ago, I asked my mom to come with me to a park. I wanted to take some pics and she’s great company when I want to go on a walk. She brought me to this park by her friend’s house. I’m not sure what the name of the park was, but it was a great place to get up close to a creek with gorgeous foliage.
This was taken early on a Monday morning, the same day I took Mountain Fog. The fog was so thick, it was hard to see anything. Driving very slowly up the mountain I was worried about how my pictures were going to come out. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the outcome. I love the subdued blue in the image.
