Those little white dots in the middle of this field in Iceland are sheep. HAHA They’re so teeny tiny here but when you meet them in real life they are big and pretty nonchalant about things. They don’t pay you any attention until you get super close to try to pet them. Trust me, I know from experience. Keep away from the sheep…

Wait a minute, can you even see them?

I remember the exact time when I took this image. We were on our way to get some afternoon tea and macarons. Actually, the afternoon tea part was a happy accident. We intended to take some macarons to-go but when we walked through the door we saw everyone sitting and enjoying tea in this beautifully decorated space. So of course I squealed and asked Andrew if we could sit and have some tea too. He couldn’t say no but after 10 minutes into it we looked around and noticed he was the only guy in the whole restaurant. HAHA! It wasn’t until we left did we find the side entrance where you could get your macarons to-go 🙂 Oh well, it was des tonnes de plaisir.

Cheers to 2016!

Do you guys have any new year traditions? Besides the usual goals and things like that… One thing that I do is clean the house and get my hair cut. As I was growing up this was one of the things my mom used to always tell me to do. So every new years eve the bed sheets get washed, the house gets cleaned and I get a haircut. I’m really not sure if it’s a Chinese thing or something that my mom just did but it’s always a great feeling to start the brand new year fresh. Do you have any New Year traditions like that?

Not only can I not sleep in anymore but since the sun rises so late now, I feel like I’ve been waking up extra early. It’s ok though or else I wouldn’t have been able to see gorgeous light like this if I were 10 minutes later.

3 Things I’m grateful for this week:

1. This makes me giggle.

2. Making fun lists like this one.

3. 7 days til Christmas!

The last time I was at the Grand Canyon I was caught in the middle of a huge rainstorm. We spent most of the day trapped in the visitor center with about 50 other people. Not really the type of adventure I had anticipated but as soon as the rain stopped this beautiful fog rolled through the canyon. It made the Grand Canyon look so small because hardly anything was visible.

I always get tons of emails and messages about what to do in DC. So I thought I’d make these quick little guides to make life easier. Here are some different ways to enjoy the Lincoln Memorial.

lincoln memorial, arlington memorial parkway, bridge, traffic, lights, car, trails, sunrise, early morning, washington dc

The Lincoln Memorial is the most visisted memorial in DC. I’d recommend going as early as possible so there’d be less people crowding you. The best part is that the memorial is open 24 hours so you can go any time of the day.

lincoln memorial, orange, sunrise, early morning, light, red, memorial, washington dc, travel, tripod, photo, photography, angela pan

The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. This was taken at sunrise so Lincoln is feeling that early morning glow.

You can also walk around the entire memorial and see gorgeous views of the Washington Monument, the Tidal Basin and Arlington, VA

Here’s a cool view of the Lincoln Memorial from the top of the Washington Monument

ducklings, ducks, washington dc, reflecting pool, lincoln memorial, sunset,

It’s not uncommon to see ducklings enjoying the reflecting pool in the spring/summer time.

washington, dc, lincoln memorial, washington monument, fireworks, july 4th, independence day, celebration, night, gw parkway,

And if you’re lucky enough to be in the city for the fourth of July, the GW parkway off of Roosevelt island is a great place to watch the fireworks.

linconl memorial, abraham lincoln, presidents day, mr president, washington dc, memorial, snow, night, weather, visit,

Walk underneath the columns for the visitor center to learn more about honest Abe. And a tip for the ladies- the bathrooms are clean 🙂

What’s your favorite part about the Lincoln Memorial? Don’t forget to share this with your friends who are planning their visit to Washington DC.
