A few weeks ago, the Library of Congress open its doors to the Reading Room to the public. This happens only two times a year, so I knew I had to be there. I had seen the room but only behind plated plastic.

What seemed like a normal outting to the Library of Congress, turned out to take a lot longer than expected. When I got there, I found out there was a suspecious package the the police had to investigated. I waited for a good hour and a half before I was let into the building. It was a little excitment before the main event 🙂

Hey Everyone!
Guess where I am!! MEXICO!! Actually not right now because I’m writing this ahead of time, but get ready for some awesome images of Cozumel next week 🙂 The main reason why I’m going is to go scuba diving, but I’ll try to sneak some shots of the beaches.

Now, heres what happened this past week:
I visited the Thomas Jefferson Memorial at sunrise and the Memorial Bridge at sunset.
I took another trip to Great Falls National Park and learned a lot from my experience there.
Then I brought it back to earlier in the summer when I visited a sunflower field in Southern Maryland.
Finally, to round out the week I posted a new image of the Library of Congress in DC.

I was also featured in Fun in Fairfax for the very first time!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Not only does is the Library of Congress beautiful, but its got to be one of my favorite interiors in DC. The first time I visited it I think I was so blown away by the architecture that I got kinda overwhelmed. I didn’t come out with that many images and I knew there was so much potential for more. So, I went back again and got a little frustrated by all the people there. Umm don’t you know I have a daily blog to keep up? HAHA JK. It was pretty cool to hear people’s initial reactions to the interior.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Lately I’ve gotten into night photography so this past week had some exciting new images.

The first one was from the Library of Congress at night. The water fountain looks almost surreal.
Tuesday I reminisced on my memorial day weekend and cropped out an image of the Farris Wheel from Viva Vienna.
Shenandoah National Park is beautiful in so many ways. Sunrise is a time of day not many people get to see, I’m glad to show you this amazing image of blues, yellows and oranges.
I spent a night walking around DC and got some interesting shot. The first one is of the Chinatown Gate in DC. It was pretty difficult to find the perfect spot, but once I did, I think it came out great!
But the Lincoln Memorial at night has got to be my favorite image of the week. I love all the different streaks of light, including the one from the plane that was flying over by at the right moment.

Wanna see where all the magic happens? Check out my office tour.

I was in FamousDC again, check out my Arlington Memorial Bridge image.

Hope you all have a great weekend. I’ll be in Philly this weekend so get ready for some brotherly love images next week 🙂

This was my second time at the Library of Congress. The first time was in the middle of the afternoon and I tried to capture the fountain, but never posted anything because I was never really satisfied by the image.

I finally got the idea to go at night. I figured the contrast of the dark night with the spotlights and water would look really good in HDR. I think my favorite part of this image are the details. I love looking at the different parts of the fountain and discovering something new.
