washington monument, tidal basin, sunset, pencil, angela b. pan, abpan, landscape, hdr, travel, nature, photography

Taken at the same time as this image, the Washington Monument looked so pretty witht he pink and purple sky behind it. I didn’t spend much time here taking this image because I have a lot from the tidal basin already. Just wanted to capture the bueautiful sky.

The thing I really like about this image is that you can see the two different stones on the monument. I love little details like that.

helicopters, air and space museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, Chantilly, Virginia, hdr, angela b. pan, abpan

This past weekend I was at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia. Although this wasn’t my first time there (seen here), I took a different approach this time. I thought about how some photographs I’ve seen look kinda hectic. There are plane and other sorts of flying objects on the ground, in the air, and sometimes right in you face. I thought I’d try to find the more simple things and concentrate on lines. I love how the helicopter propellers lead your eye into the image.

US Capitol, capitol sunrise, congress, the hill, washington dc, hdr, landscape, sunrise, capitol, angela b. pan, abpan

FINALLY! I’ve been waiting to go to the capitol to get this reflection shot. For some reason, either the reflection pool wasn’t filled, the sky didn’t look right, or for whatever reason I could not get the image I wanted. FINALLY! this morning was my time.

One of the best parts about shooting at sunrise: lots of available parking 🙂

great falls, national park, sunrise, angela b. pan, abpan, hdr, landscape, reflection, virginia, va,

This morning I really didn’t feel like getting up. I was so comfortable sleeping in my bed, getting up and brushing my teeth was the last thing I wanted to do. Then I thought to myself, “if you get a good shot today, it will be totally worth it”. I kinda took my time getting ready and was sluggish walking to this spot. I’m so glad I did thou. I’d say this is one of my best images from Great Falls.

sunflower, abpan, angela b. pan, macro, flower, maryland, hdr, close-up

This morning I woke up early and headed out to Southern Maryland for a sunflower field! How exciting. I’ve been planning this trip for so long and this week is finally the peak of the flowers. When I actaully got there, I was so excited, but kinda surprised how short it was, it went up to my waist. I thought it would be taller than me.
