Man, this place is GORGEOUS. I just found out about this place the other day when I was researching things to photograph in DC. For being such a small city, there are so many hidden treasures. This is definitely one of them. Can’t wait to find some more. If you have any suggestions of places to photograph in DC or anywhere else comment below 🙂

Happy July!
Hope you all have a great holiday weekend and eat lots of watermellon 😀

This past week I had several images of DC starting from the Lincoln Memorial and the Smithsonian Castle.
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is a little known spot in DC where there are beautiful summer water lilies.
Just a little bit outside of DC, is Great Falls National Park.
A lot out of DC, in California, is Yosemite National Park where I posted this new image of Cooks Valley.

My images appeared in two different blogs this week 🙂

For some reason it took me a long time to get this image. I’d been planning on visitng the Superme Court for a while now but I wanted to make sure I had a good sunrise before I went. The first time I went the sunrise was barely there, but I took that time to practice my composition. My second attempt was the next morning and the sunrise was ok but I thought it could of been better. The third morning I woke up and was half way there when I realized the sunrise would probably be a little dull. (Sometimes you can just tell if it’s too cloudy, too clear, etc.) Finally on the fourth day the sunrise was gorgeous. I was so excited to go to the Supreme Court, but unfortunately the sky wasn’t so lit that the color was everywhere. After spending almost a full week, waking up everyday at 430am, I am done with this building for now.

Wow, how have I never been to the Library of Congress? It is BEAUTIFUL! As soon as I walked in, I was stunned. I would have to say this may be the prettiest interior I’ve seen in DC. I really wish I could of shot the reading room. Talk about gorgeous!

If you’re visiting DC from out of town, one of the best places to catch the sunrise is at the Lincoln Memorial. There’s a gorgeous view of the whole mall and the sun is lights it up beautifully.

My orginial intention was to go and capture the reflection pool with the monument, but it’s closed for construction. I had to go some where that all the cranes and dirt would not be visible in the image. I climbed the Lincoln Memorial stairs and instead of going inside I tried out the right side to see the view. Hope you like the image 🙂
