I thought it would be fun to check out the sunrise this morning from the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial since today is his day. I was surprisingly welcomed by beautiful colors in the sky and a great start to the day!

Lately, I’ve been getting more and more fascinated by statutes. I love looking at all the details and imagining someone creating the piece of art from their hands. Messing up means having to start all over again and I can appreciate the patience.
Spent some time in the beautiful Library of Congress the other day. The first thing you notice when you walk into this building is the amazing gold color, light from all the windows and amazing detail. There is something beautiful to look at at every turn. I love visiting the Library and just sitting and enjoying the ambiance.
Today is the coldest it’s ever been in 20 years in DC. Brrr! I’m staying indoors all day! This reminds me of the warmer days.
I usually don’t go to the Jefferson memorial for sunrise, but I thought I’d check it out. My main concentration was to get an angle that I hadn’t done before. I love how you can see Jefferson peeking between the columns.
Since the scaffolding is coming down on the Washington Monument, I thought it’d be fun to look back on some of my favorite images of the construction. The scaffolding doesn’t happen very often and I know many people didn’t like it. I didn’t see it as a distraction, but a new structure to appreciate.
