Gorgeous morning on the Theodore Roosevelt Island trail. I was walking back to my car but couldn’t help but notice the amazing light coming through the trees. We’ve been having these amazing sunrises and sunsets with such warm light. Can fall last forever?

Last night was kinda crazy. I was shocked to see how many people showed up to shoot the Super Moon. As we were pulling in, Andrew said “How did all these people know about your secret spot?” LOL Obviously netherlands carillon isn’t a secret spot but I didn’t know THAT many people would show up. Check out my Instagram story to see just how crazy it was.
Last week, my friend Larry and I woke up early and headed west to Shenandoah National Park. It was so fun to go with a fellow photographer cuz he didn’t mind when I’d randomly pull off the road and get my camera out without any notice or warning. It was just this understanding that we had. Or maybe it was just too early for either of us to really dispute it. Either way, it was a good time!
I’d like to say that this was a long and strenuous hike to get to this waterfall. I think it’d make the image seem way more epic. But it wasn’t. It was a pleasant 20 minute walk where I stopped every few steps to take pictures of the beautiful trees. It was an awesome afternoon.
Walking around Scotts Run trail, I noticed the amazing light coming up on the trees. Nothing else to do but to look up and admire.
If you saw a crazy girl running with her hair everywhere and a tripod in her hand along the parkway, that was me. I was so late to this sunrise. I always forget about traffic now that the sun rises so much later in the day. I was pretty much jumping up and down in the driver seat all the way down GW Parkway to get to Roosevelt Island. Glad I was still able to catch some of the color before it faded.
