Early morning at one of my favorite memorials in DC, the Jefferson Memorial. It’s one of my favorites because its kind of off to its own on the side. Not as many visit it, but it’s still just as spectacular as all the others.

The days are so long now and I’m spending more and more time outdoors. It’s great. But to be honest, my main concern for this shot was not to get my feet wet from standing in the grass.
If you ever find yourself in St John, head straight to Cinnamon Bay. Don’t bother with Trunk Bay because its way more crowded. Plus you pay to enter. Cinnamon bay is bigger and far less people there. They also have a restaurant so you could spend the whole day there. Trust me. Cinnamon Bay.
My friend, Sue and I booked a super last minute getaway to the US Virgin Islands. Neither one of us had been there before and it was such an amazing, relaxing trip. I already want to go back and explore more islands.
We stayed in St. Thomas but took the ferry for a day trip to St. John. Talk about gorgeousness. The sand was white. The water was clear. We even saw little fishes swimming all around us. Absolutely amazing.
Not going to lie, I’m much more of a warm weather person than cold. I could stare at this forever.
I was on my way home when I was passing by the Iwo Jima memorial. It was pouring but I figured I’d wait around to see what would happen. Luckily as soon as I arrived, there was a break in the rain. I ran as fast as I could and grabbed a few shots. I was super lucky that one of them got this little lightning strike. I don’t know which is more surprising, the fact that this was hand held or that I barely got wet trying to get it. Both are a win to me 🙂
