Cherry blossoms are starting to peak at the Tidal Basin. This was taken this morning.
I was a little late for sunrise but able to catch the sun right as they were hitting the flowers. Excited for the next few days 🙂

Spring is here! Spring is here! Spring is here 😀
This past weekend I spent a good deal of time walking around the city. Although DC is most known for the cherry blossoms around the tidal basin, there are so many different variations of these Japanese flowers that bloom at different times and in different parts of the city. I found a few trees close to the Capitol building.
Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at sunset. I found it a bit challenging to photograph the shrine. Not only is it on top of a hill but because it was difficult to catch the right sky. It definitely took persistence, but I think I got it 🙂
I was processing this image and thought that it would look better in black and white. What do you think? There were some color in the sky, but…. I dunno.
Just some test shots for future visits to the National Shrine. I’ve never been there before, but I was very impressed by the architecture and grandness of the shrine.
Before we got all this crazy rain from the weekend, I got up Friday morning to watch the sunrise. The storm clouds brought beautiful color.
