As I was taking these pictures, I was thinking to myself how fortunate I am to live in Virginia. Here’s what I mean, I can drive 20 minutes east and be in the most powerful city in the world. I can drive 1 hour west and be in one of the most amazing national parks in the country and see beautiful leaves like these.
Yesterday was a little unusual. I woke up earlier than my alarm clock which meant I left the house a little earlier than I expected to. I left with the intention of going to Manassas Battlefield but while I was on the road I realized I would of just waited in the parking lot for about 30 minutes before I’d see any light. So instead of waiting, I thought I’d just go straight to Shenandoah National park and check out the color on the trees.
Most of the trees are still green, a few had color, but I mostly saw fog. As I got higher in the mountain, the foggier it got. It got foggier, windier and rainy. I’ll definitely be back again later in the week to scope out the scene.
