The Cherry Blossoms are going away, so this may be one of my last images of them this year. They were beauitful and will definietly be missed. Look out for a vlog coming soon 🙂
For a change of pace, I decided that I’d visit Alexandria, VA for some sunrise pics. It was definitely the opposite of cherry blossoms because no one was there. Sure, I saw a dog walker here and there but it was very nice to be next to the water on such a beautiful morning.
This was taken on my first day of visiting the cherry blossoms in DC this year. I was watching the sunrising while I was on my way there and could not wait to park my car. I don’t know if I’ve ever walked so fast in my life to get to my perfect spot. The sun rises quick!
There are so many people at the Tidal Basin in the mornings because of the cherry blossoms, that you kind of feel overwhelmed. Its hard to get a good spot, unless you get there super early or you decide to go against the crowd and photograph something else. Everybody seemed to be shooting the Jefferson Memorial, but I noticed that the Washington Monument had all this color behind it. So, I quickly turned my camera from the Jefferson to the Monument and found a perfect spot where the cherry blossoms were framing it.
