Studying the Lincoln Memorial architecture in the snow, I was just in time to catch the airplane flying over. The first time it flew over, I was lucky. Then I knew I could expect them to come every 10-ish minutes because the flights weren’t delayed due to snow. YAY!

I drive a coupe and those tires are horrible in the snow. I’m slippin’ and sliding all through my neighborhood so getting to DC would be terrible. So on snow days like this, I take the metro. It’s super convient because I live walking distance to a stop. But I never ride it more than when it’s absolutely necessary. I don’t know it’s just so much easier to hop in my car and drive myself. No waiting, no worrying about metro delays (cuz theres a lot!). This is the view you get when you get off of Foggy Bottom and walk towards the Lincoln Memorial.

Another way to escape these cold winter days, check out dupont underground. They’re currently running tours to this light projection tunnel and it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. It sort of reminded me of Stranger Things meets X-Files.

Quick stop at the National Gallery of Art and this staircase stopped me in my tracks. I must of looked like a mad woman because I was sort of hanging over the ledge trying to capture the reflections without getting my shoes into the shot. HAHA it’s ok though. Wouldn’t be my first time lookin’ all crazy just for a shot.

Hope to be back again with more time to explore. Now that it’s so cold out, I’d love to shoot more indoor stuff in the winter.

CRAZY foggy morning last week. I was so excited when I saw this. I’ve NEVER seen the monument like this before.

So, a lot of people have been asking me where I was standing when I shot this. Its funny because I was just standing at the Tidal Basin. Nothing really special or unusual. So many people commented thinking that I was up in the air somewhere, flying a drone or maybe even at the old post office. Nope. Just standing on beautiful planet earth when I captured this.
