Have you seen the movie, “Inside Out”? Andrew and I watched it a few weeks ago and have been recommending it to friends ever since. Its so fun to watch. I think everyone could relate to at least one of the characters in the movie. I relate most to Joy. The one who’s always in a super good mood and always tries to see the positive side to things. It also helped me realize that you can decide which emotion carries you in life and it’s a forever changing thing. If anger is your day today, it doesn’t have to be tomorrow.

I picked up a new hobby over the weekend! Actually it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while now. I’m going to learn how to skateboard 🙂 I had so much fun wakeboarding over the summer but I was not good. Pretty bad actually. But it was a total BLAST. I figured skateboarding could help me get better at it.

So I was over at my brother’s house (like I am every weekend) and noticed my nephews had skatebaords. I asked if I could try and my nephew, Brennan told me that “Skateboarding is sooo 90s”. I told him that I didn’t care and I was going to do it anyways! It was so much fun. Towards the end I was getting too excited by my progress that I fell and hit my elbow and head pretty hard. I just rolled up my sleeves and tried again.

After I left I immediately purchased a skateboard (and helmet) that should be arriving tonight! So excited. More updates on my need for speed soon…

Early Morning Drive along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park

The best part of autumn? Pumpkin spiced everything! Just joking… kind of.

The best part of autumn is the changing of the seasons. From the hot summer temperatures to the crisp cool air, it’s nice to just cuddle up in a warm sweater and be outside. I love living in Virginia. We get all four seasons and there are so many great places to visit to see the changing of seasons.

What an absolutely amazing week! It just reaffirms the fact that photography is what I’m meant to do in life and I could not be more appreciative to be doing what I love every single day.

With that said, I have a lot of things to be grateful for, so here are my top 3 for the week:

1. So thankful to have received such kind messages about this image I took 3 years ago at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial

2. The pink sky from the image above is a part of the official movie poster for “The Choice“. I could not be more thrilled to have worked with Lionsgate Entertainment to bring this Nicholas Sparks adaptation to life.

3. Finally! My Sphere 2 experience will be opened next week in the Arcanum!!! I’m so pumped. It’s going to be absolutely amazing. The whole sphere will be about getting more attention from your landscape images and it’s going to be awesomes.

If you saw me this morning than you would of seen a girl with a tripod sprinting across Constitution Ave because the sunrise was AMAZING!!! I got to the Lincoln Memorial and had never seen it so pink before. The light from the sky, reflecting off the reflecting pool must of been so bright and strong that it made everything pink. Even these big workout guys stopped to watch. It was incredible.

Speaking of incredible the response to the Vietnam Memorial image from yesterday was absolutely mind blowing. Thank you all so much for the kind messages and comments. I’m going to spend some time today to try to get back to everyone. Thank you so much.
