I always get tons of emails and messages about what to do in DC. So I thought I’d make these quick little guides to make life easier. Here are some different ways to enjoy the Lincoln Memorial.
The Lincoln Memorial is the most visisted memorial in DC. I’d recommend going as early as possible so there’d be less people crowding you. The best part is that the memorial is open 24 hours so you can go any time of the day.
The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. This was taken at sunrise so Lincoln is feeling that early morning glow.
You can also walk around the entire memorial and see gorgeous views of the Washington Monument, the Tidal Basin and Arlington, VA

It’s not uncommon to see ducklings enjoying the reflecting pool in the spring/summer time.
And if you’re lucky enough to be in the city for the fourth of July, the GW parkway off of Roosevelt island is a great place to watch the fireworks.
Walk underneath the columns for the visitor center to learn more about honest Abe. And a tip for the ladies- the bathrooms are clean 🙂
What’s your favorite part about the Lincoln Memorial? Don’t forget to share this with your friends who are planning their visit to Washington DC.
When you think of Washington DC, you usually think of government, politics and a serious city life. However if you live in the area, you know its much more than that. The United States capital is such a vibrant, walkable city that’s great for locals and tourists a like. Theres so much to do, eat, and see that autumn time in DC is a great place to be. Rhyming not intentional but natural. (I make myself laugh.)
With that said, here are some of my favorite places to view the changing of colors and season in Washington DC:
The best part of autumn? Pumpkin spiced everything! Just joking… kind of.
The best part of autumn is the changing of the seasons. From the hot summer temperatures to the crisp cool air, it’s nice to just cuddle up in a warm sweater and be outside. I love living in Virginia. We get all four seasons and there are so many great places to visit to see the changing of seasons.
