Virginia

Looking back at some older images, this was taken at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA. The place had this fun, family, beachy vibe to it. So it was really interesting to see this creepy fog rolling in early morning. Kinda looks like it straight out of a horror movie or something.
The perfect reason to wake up in the morning. No excuses, just pure beauty.
I visited this park a few years ago and never expected a cypress swamp like this so close to Virginia Beach. Its been a while since I’ve revisited these images and forgot the name of it. A quick google search lead me to the wikipedia page and to my surprise, my previous image from First Landing State Park is on there! So cool. Check it out here.

Almost makes the rain worth it. Almost.
I was on my way home when I was passing by the Iwo Jima memorial. It was pouring but I figured I’d wait around to see what would happen. Luckily as soon as I arrived, there was a break in the rain. I ran as fast as I could and grabbed a few shots. I was super lucky that one of them got this little lightning strike. I don’t know which is more surprising, the fact that this was hand held or that I barely got wet trying to get it. Both are a win to me 🙂
