Who’s excited for Halloween? I have big plans for the weekend involving a Frankenstein puppy dressed up as a bear as we go trick-or-treating with my nephews. My nephews are 11 and 9 now. Do you think they’re too old to have their aunt and uncle go with them? The best part of halloween is after they’re done trick-or-treating, I get to raid all their candy and keep the chocolates for myself 🙂

I’m also meeting up with some local Arcanum friends and shooting the Arlington Cemetery. Love the cemetery at this time of the year. The trees are beautiful and thought it would be fitting considering the holiday.

Here are three things that I was grateful this week:

  1. Home for all the fall leaves to be changing. Love this time of year 🙂
  2. Loving this year’s Dynamic DC calendar. They’re almost sold out!
  3. This makes me laugh.

When I go to Taiwan I love to get my hair washed at the hair salon. You can’t do that in the states without getting a haircut or something but you can get your hair washed for less than $5 USD. It’s like a hair wash and head massage all at the same time and I LOVE getting my head massaged. So really it’s a dream and then have they blow dry and style your hair for you after all is done.

This one particular time I was talking to the guy who was washing my hair, just small talk stuff but he could tell I’m not from Taiwan. He asked where I was from and I said America. He immediately goes “ohh Kobe Bryant!” and I was like, “yes Kobe Bryant! Do you know how to say anything else in English?” He didn’t. HAHA

I know Ive said it before but I’ll say it again that it feels good to be home. The past week I spent a lot of time editing photos and just resting. I’m pretty sure I slept more this past week than I have this past month.

Here are 3 things I was grateful for:

  1. My bed- although I don’t remember this ever happening before
  2. Catching up with my Arcanum cohort and welcoming a new apprentice!
  3. Spending time working on my Taiwan photos like this one- a typical scene of Taipei streets.

Have a great weekend <3

The Chih Nan temple is on top of this gorgeous mountain side. Looking it up on Wikipedia now and it says that it if unmarried couples visit this temple together they will break up. Woah didn’t know that when I visited it. All I knew for sure was that it was this gorgeous temple that pointed south.

I got in a little bit of trouble taking a picture similar to this one. You can’t be directly inside of the temple but you can stand outside of this cool circular door way and shoot in. Kind of doesn’t make sense but all good none the less.

Most nights you could find me at the night market. It’s so much fun to walk in these streets and just look at all the food stands. They’re always pretty packed though. Not only are there tons of people but motorcycles are constantly zipping by right next to you. You’re constantly looking over your shoulder to make sure one isn’t about to run you over before you take your next step. But the food is delicious! They’re called “little eats” and my favorite thing to get were these buns with meat and veggies inside with soup. Oh the soup would be sooo good and HOT!
