morning

I think I say this every Friday but just for consistency I’m going to say it again. YAY! So excited for the weekend. I don’t have much going on but it’s just a great time to catch up on the things that I didn’t get a chance to do during the week.

Here are 3 things I was grateful for this week…

1. My super awesome graphic designer, Anelise. She rocks.
2. My super awesome cohorts in the Arcanum. Seriously makes my day to socialize with such amazing photographers everyday.
3. A new public speaking opportunity in February. More about that soon…

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? Me, I check my emails, check my social media accounts, and the weather all while I’m still in bed. I feel like it kinda wakes me up before I actually have to get up. So when I saw that there was fog Christmas morning, I immediately got up.

I’m starting to really enjoy the fog. I dunno, it’s like you’re walking through this really warm cloud and who wouldn’t want to walk through a really warm cloud? This day was really different though. Not because it was Christmas but because it was SUPER foggy. I couldn’t even see the Washington Monument while I was driving into the city and that thing is huge!

After walking around for 30 minutes the fog slowly started lifting the monuments started coming into view. Love how unique this perspective turned out and grateful it turned out to be a white Christmas after all 🙂

Sometimes people will come up to me and be like, “Angela, where’s a good place to go in DC to shoot fall colors.”
Then I’ll go, “Well, tidal basin is one of my favorites. The Cherry Blossom trees are great in the spring but they’re really awesome in the fall time too.”
Than the other person will go, “Hey Thanks! I never thought about that. You’re really smart.”
And then I’ll go, “You’re welcome 🙂 Glad I could help!”

And that’s how a typical conversation will go when talking about autumn in DC…. or maybe I just made that up in my head because I drank too much coffee this morning. Either way, I’m entertained.

The first thing I did when I woke up in the morning was check my phone to see what the weather was like outside. The app said 21 degrees and mostly cloudy. Sounds like the perfect excuse to stay in bed, but I didn’t. We haven’t had any cloudy days recently and if there was any chance for a nice sunrise, today was going to be the day. I dragged myself out of bed and the first thing I said when I left my house was, “ohhh shizzle”. But in a good way 🙂
