We had some crazy storms yesterday in the DC area. So whenever that happens, I try my best to make it out for sunset to shoot. Luckily by that time they had already passed and left some pretty awesome clouds in their wake.
Lincoln Memorial
Went to bed wayyy too late on Saturday but I was determined to wake up for sunrise on Sunday. I had already made up my mind up earlier in the day to go. Damn my decisiveness! But the sunrise turned out pretty cool. Worth the trip but crashed as soon as I got home.
Walking up the steps, I noticed this large puddle right in front of the marker of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I had a dream” speech. How cool is it to see the columns in the reflection of the puddles.
Right before I left to the Virgin Islands, I joined Walk With Locals for their Midnight at the Monuments instameet. I’ve always wanted to go to the monuments in the middle of the night but never had the motivation to do so until then. So glad I did. You seem some interesting stuff at night including skateboarders at the Washington Monument trying new tricks, girls dressed up for prom at the Lincoln Memorial and who knows what else I missed in the darkness.
I went out last night to shoot the sunset. We’ve been having such crazy, rainy weather that I was expecting much. But I’m so glad I went because the sunset turned out amazing! Then I ran into my friend, Andy! Which made it even more worth it 🙂
My friend, Sue and I just booked a super last minute trip to the beach. I can’t wait for some girl time, drinks and fun in the sun. See ya later, rain. I’ll be workin’ on my tan.
