Wow, how have I never been to the Library of Congress? It is BEAUTIFUL! As soon as I walked in, I was stunned. I would have to say this may be the prettiest interior I’ve seen in DC. I really wish I could of shot the reading room. Talk about gorgeous!

If you’re visiting DC from out of town, one of the best places to catch the sunrise is at the Lincoln Memorial. There’s a gorgeous view of the whole mall and the sun is lights it up beautifully.
My orginial intention was to go and capture the reflection pool with the monument, but it’s closed for construction. I had to go some where that all the cranes and dirt would not be visible in the image. I climbed the Lincoln Memorial stairs and instead of going inside I tried out the right side to see the view. Hope you like the image 🙂

It’s a fun time in DC now. Spring is here which means the cherry blossoms are here! It seems like everyone in the DC area meet up by the Tidal Basin to enjoy the weather and flowers.
I went over to the Jefferson Memorial to check out the area. To be honest, I have never been inside the actual memorial and it was pretty cool. Luckily I was there just in time for the sunset. Prepare to see more of the Jefferson Memorial, cherry blossoms and tidal basin soon.

Here’s a picture I never got around to posting before. Its from one of the first time’s I had out to DC for some night shots.
I had no idea there were going to be some many people out. (I’m used to shooting a lot earlier in the morning.) In a weird way, it was a blessing. If so many people hadn’t been out, taking tourist pictures, sitting on the steps, and chatting with their friends, I would have never walked along the sides of the building. I found a little bit of peace stepping away from all the people and took this shot.
Looking up at the columns of the Lincoln Memorial is pretty amazing. You start thinking about who built the building and all the history behind it. It’s a pretty cool place to just sit back and appreciate history.
