We had some pretty heavy rain over the weekend. It was kinda nice because it gave me a little break from going out shooting. Sunday afternoon, I looked out the window and it was so sunny out with beautiful clouds that I had to go back to the tidal basin. I had to see if the rain knocked down all the cherry blossoms. Unfortunately, they are pretty much done 🙁 There goes cherry blossom 2012 season.
cherry blossoms
That past few days haven’t been great as far as beautiful sunrises. As I was driving into DC this morning I had a hard time finding the monument. It was covered with FOG! If I can’t get a beautiful sunrise, than at least the foggy morning makes for a unique image 🙂
Another beautiful morning at the Tidal Basin. Make sure to check out Capital Photo History Tours. Our tour of the cherry blossoms on April 1st has been cancelled and combined with the March 24th tour. That’s this weekend!
Since the blossoms have been blooming earlier than expected this year, that causes some problems with our April 1st tour of the cherry blossoms. By then, there probably won’t even been any blossoms. So, we’re trying our best to see if we can move everybody to our March 24th tour. If you’ve signed up for the April 1st tour, we’re trying to contact you!
In the meantime, in between time, I’ll be taking pics of the blossoms as much as I can. If you happen to see me out there, please say “hi”!
It’s been such a mild winter with no snow (no I’m not bitter about the lack of snow) so its been pretty difficult to predict when the cherry blossoms are going to bloom. I kept on hearing from different sources different peak dates, so I decided that I was going to take a look for myself this morning. There were a few blooms but probably just a few more days until full bloom 🙂
