This past Saturday, I was so lucky to be able to tour the National Cathedral before it opened to the public. Thanks so much to Chris for setting it up and taking me around. I learned so much and loved every minute of it!

I hadn’t been back since the earthquake we experienced this past summer so it was really interesting to see what happened to the Cathedral. It seems as though they were the most affected by the quake and because of it theres this black netting that is all along the ceiling of the building. At first I wasn’t impressed by it, but as the sun slowly raised in the sky, you could see these cool light reflections in the netting coming from the stained glass window. I guess it will be ok for now 🙂

I spent the morning at the WWII memorial. It wasn’t planned, I was trying to shoot at Founder’s park but there were so many trees that it was blocking the colors of the sunrise. I ran over to the WWII and was amazed by the sky.

Thanks to the man who was cleaning up the memorial who let me use my tripod. Thanks to the parking ticket lady who almost gave me a ticket but I ran back to my car in time.

Hellooo Wednesday! 🙂

Usually, I don’t take portraits, but I couldn’t resist this time. She stood right next to me and it was like she was asking me to take her picture. What do you think about this image? Should I do more portraits like this? Kinda street/candid shots?

We had some pretty heavy rain over the weekend. It was kinda nice because it gave me a little break from going out shooting. Sunday afternoon, I looked out the window and it was so sunny out with beautiful clouds that I had to go back to the tidal basin. I had to see if the rain knocked down all the cherry blossoms. Unfortunately, they are pretty much done 🙁 There goes cherry blossom 2012 season.
