The last part of my countdown to 2012! Again, in no particular order. It’s just like choosing your favorite child. You just can’t do it!

Taken at the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, VA. I love the composition and the leading lines in this one. Plus it was super hard to take this image without a tripod.

I was so lucky to get this shot. This pink only lasted for 5 minutes and it went away.

The summer is great for fog. Sometimes it can get too foggy and its kinda hard to see, this was just the right amount.

From my trip to Yosemite, the whole time I was there it was rainy/foggy. This was during a photo walk given by the Ansel Adams Gallery to Cooks Valley. I love the reflection with the little hay balls.

One of my favoritest pics of all time. It represents a defining moment from when my pics got from ok to good.

A beautiful foggy morning in Manassas, VA. I came out with so many different, colorful images. It was a day a photographers only dreams about.

Again, another image from that amazing day in Manassas. I love the simplicity of this image.

This will be my last new image of 2011. Can you believe it? It’s almost 2012. Don’t worry though, I will be reminiscing on the past year with some of my favorite pics in the next 2 days.

It’s so crazy to think about the past year. So many amazing things happened. I’m so excited for 2012 cuz I know its only going to get better.

I was more impressed with the Capitol Christmas tree than the National Christmas tree infront of the White House. It seemed to have a lot more work put into it (lights and ornaments) and it was lit up all night instead of just a few hours at night. But, I’m afraid I came too late. About 5 minutes after I arrived, they turned off all the lights. I’ll try to go out again so I can get a closer view.

Is it sad that the whole time I was processing this image I had “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by Nsync in my head. I don’t know why, but it’s always been one of my favorite holiday songs.

This was my first official time shooting the Christmas tree. I must admit, I thought I wouldn’t be allowed to use my tripod, but I always bring it just in case. I was able to pull it out and use it like a monopod, but there were so many little kids everywhere that sometimes it was a little difficult to use.

I woke up this morning and KNEW I was going to get an awesome sunrise. Do you ever have one of those days where you’re like, “Man, today is going to be an awesome day”.

As I drove toward DC I could see the sky just getting better and more colorful. When you actually get there, you see the potomac on either side of you and the sky was reflecting so beautifuly on the water, I really wished I could of just pulled over on the side of the street and took pics right there. My original intention was to take pics at the Capitol again, to get the original pic I intended for, but that reflection was just way too amazing so I quickly made up my mind to head over to the tidal basin. As soon as I got there, I was so disappointed. You can usually see the sunrise perfectly behind the Jefferson, but it was too cloudy. It’s so crazy how much views can change. Oh well, I’m still happy with this shot.

When you walk into the Library of Congress the first thing you see are these two gorgous stairways on the right and left side of the building. The miniature woman statute is right at the foot of the stairs and she makes a great centerpiece to the amazing library.
