Surprisingly, not a lot of cars around at 6a on a Saturday morning 🙂 I had to wait a while in order to get the light trails but it was worth the wait. Next time I try this, it will be on a weekday.
I was on my way home when I was passing by the Iwo Jima memorial. It was pouring but I figured I’d wait around to see what would happen. Luckily as soon as I arrived, there was a break in the rain. I ran as fast as I could and grabbed a few shots. I was super lucky that one of them got this little lightning strike. I don’t know which is more surprising, the fact that this was hand held or that I barely got wet trying to get it. Both are a win to me 🙂
My friend, Sue and I just booked a super last minute trip to the beach. I can’t wait for some girl time, drinks and fun in the sun. See ya later, rain. I’ll be workin’ on my tan.
YAY for nice days and no more rain! I was taking shelter in the Lincoln Memorial right as the rain stopped and was greeted by beautiful clouds like this.
Growing up, I was always told I look like my mom. If you asked her, she would say “of course, because you’re beautiful” but I don’t know if I see the resemblance. Besides the physical, we do have a lot of other things in common. We both are creative. But she takes her creativity out in other ways. My mom is an AMAZING singer. Ever since I could remember, we’ve always had a karaoke machine in our house and she’d always be singing. Her favorites were the classics: Whitney Houston, Elvis Presley and lots of Chinese music that I still don’t fully understand. But her passion is Chinese Opera. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard it before, but it’s super high pitched. It’s unbelievable the sounds she can make with just her voice. (Not so fun when you’re home from college break, hung over and sleeping in the next room).
Other than that, my mom is the most caring person I’ve ever met. She’s always been there for me in difficult times and in happy times. She’s my number one cheerleader and always gives me the best advice. I didn’t always listen but regardless of that she’s always there to give me a hug and to tell me everything is going to be ok. If I ever needed any kind of emotional support without any judgement, she’s the one I can always turn to.
So in celebration of mother’s day, I thought it’d be fun to ask my mom a few questions about me and my photography. Hope you enjoy!
cute, little girl (see above)
to be a loving person
shock (and then she made the face with her eyes and mouth open)
long pause—- if you are happy with your life and profession then that’s all I can ask for.
It’s an old one, but the one that’s hanging up in Kasier on the fifth floor. The one with the yellow flower… (I had no idea which one she was talking about). Ok, then the one you sent me on Monday (she was talking about my monthly newsletter that everyone gets when they sign up) of all the houses. It’s so different.
Happy Mother’s day to all the mamas out there. Hope your day is special.
Super cool, super fun. A moving walkway that you got to ride on more than once to get the full experience of the light tunnel.
