You learn so much from photography. One day I was out taking pictures and I saw this bird. I had no idea what it was called but a person walking by stopped to admire it too. I asked him what if he knew what kind of bird it was and he told me it was a blue heron. Ever since that day, it’s one of the only birds I can identify besides your usual pigeon, seagull, etc. So now whenever I see a blue heron, I’m very quick to tell anyone next to me that it’s a blue heron. I think I sound smarter when I can identify birds. HAHA.
This was taken the same morning as the previous Lake Anna image. Actually this was probably 10 minutes before this was taken. I tend to snap my image and keep on moving. I don’t like staying in the same spot or else you come home with a memory card full of the same images.
Lake Anna wasn’t all just water sports, I went shooting too! We’re super lucky that we stayed at this great rental property that overlooked Lake Anna. I naturally wake up early. I’m not sure if it’s from all the sunrises that I wake up for or waking up to feed Frankie, my internal clock is just used to it now. So I saw the gorgeous sky and had to go out with my camera.
I like to read. This hasn’t always been the case. I remember when I was in school it was my least favorite thing to do. Talk about snooze fest.
But in the past few years, I’ve been craving books. Non-fiction, self improvement types in particular. So, I thought it’d be fun to talk about some of my favorites or books I’m currently reading.
Right before I left to Europe, I started reading A New Earth by Eckhard Tolle recommended to me by Trey Ratcliff. Talk about eye opening. Geez Louise! I never knew how MUCH my inner most thoughts were due to my ego. Before this book I didn’t even think I had much of an ego. After reading it I can see how some of my actions or thoughts may have seemed like I do.
The biggest things I’ve taken away from this book: – You can’t take yourself too seriously, things happen for a reason and you just gotta roll with the punches -My possessions don’t define me -Flowers are here on earth for no other reason that to be admired and to be beautiful.

Thanks so much to my friend, Daniela who told me about Green Spring Gardens. I had no idea this place existed and loved that they have water lilies. Funny that the gardens is right next to the neighborhood where I grew up.
