The view from the Lincoln memorial during a crazy beautiful sunrise

Looking through a glass window, this image was a little difficult to take. The National Portrait Gallery doesn’t allow tripods and I needed to take a long exposure shot to make sure I get the light streaks from the cars. It took a little time, but I think it turned out pretty cool.
This was my first time visiting the museum and I had a great time! My google+ friend, Christa, invited me out and kinda showed me the hot spots of taking pictures at the National Portrait Gallery. If you’ve never been, definitely put it on your to-do list.
I’m not sure if you can normally see the reflection of the Lincoln Memorial, but it was raining the day before and there was a lot of water that got dragged into the memorial. I thought it was really cool to see the reflection.
In preparation for the 2013 Inauguration, I headed to the Capitol to see what it was like. I was surprised to see that the Friday before the big day, most of the chairs have already been put out, along with the big screen tv and American flags. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t look like this today 🙂

OMG 2013!!! Welcome! It’s going to be an amazing year!! I can feel it <3 Back to my wreath photo hunt. I headed to Arlington National Cemetery where have them laid out on every grave. At first I was having a difficult time finding the right composition. I think it was a combination of the cold weather, tons of winter layers, and oversized gloves that was distracting me. I took a little breather and took of my gloves and I was ready for work.
