The sunrise wasn’t all that I hoped it to be. There was no color and kinda made everything very blue. I decided that I wasn’t going to waste my time and just work on my composition. I feel like with HDR a lot of times people rely on color, but what really makes an image interesting is the color.

Taking this image took about an hour. At first, the sky wasn’t very exciting and pretty cloudy. I thought, “I’m already here, might as well as wait to see what happens”. About 20 minutes later all these colors started showing and the clouds started to part. I love days like this. It’s so exciting to see what’s going to happen.

So, it’s that time of the year again 🙂 Can’t wait! Facebook has been buzzing with all this cherry blossom talk and I want to be a part of it too!

To add to the conversation, I’d like to mention that Capitol Photo History Tours (led by Rick and I) is kicking off our first tour with the WWII memorial, WWI memorial, MLK and cherry blossoms! It’s going to be an awesome day.
