Yesterday was kind of a rainy and dark day, so what better way to spend the day than with one of my best friends and her 2 week old baby boy. We just hung out and talked while I was cuddling with the baby. He’s the sweetest and cutest thing ever. I didn’t want to leave but around 5p I started getting texts from Andrew about dinner. It was perfect timing because the fog had just started to roll in. I could barely see anything but the lights from the Capital Ferris wheel. So I had to call Andrew and tell him dinner plans will be delayed and U-turned immediately. Good thing I’m a prepared photographer and had my camera with me 🙂

Just in case you were wondering, walking around in the freezing rain isn’t as fun as walking around in snow. I don’t know, its just not the same…

Since the weather was pretty crappy on Monday, I started playing this new game. Ride the metro for as long as you can tolerate, get off at a random stop, then walk around until you figure out where you are, then (thanks to my awesome sense of direction) find your way to a different metro stop, and go home. It’s a pretty fun game that you all should try!

What an absolutely amazing week! It just reaffirms the fact that photography is what I’m meant to do in life and I could not be more appreciative to be doing what I love every single day.

With that said, I have a lot of things to be grateful for, so here are my top 3 for the week:

1. So thankful to have received such kind messages about this image I took 3 years ago at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial

2. The pink sky from the image above is a part of the official movie poster for “The Choice“. I could not be more thrilled to have worked with Lionsgate Entertainment to bring this Nicholas Sparks adaptation to life.

3. Finally! My Sphere 2 experience will be opened next week in the Arcanum!!! I’m so pumped. It’s going to be absolutely amazing. The whole sphere will be about getting more attention from your landscape images and it’s going to be awesomes.

If you saw me this morning than you would of seen a girl with a tripod sprinting across Constitution Ave because the sunrise was AMAZING!!! I got to the Lincoln Memorial and had never seen it so pink before. The light from the sky, reflecting off the reflecting pool must of been so bright and strong that it made everything pink. Even these big workout guys stopped to watch. It was incredible.

Speaking of incredible the response to the Vietnam Memorial image from yesterday was absolutely mind blowing. Thank you all so much for the kind messages and comments. I’m going to spend some time today to try to get back to everyone. Thank you so much.

It’s been a long while since Ive visited Great Falls Park. I don’t know why, I just all of the sudden stopped going. So I thought it was time to go back. I went straight to my favorite spot. Its close to the water where the Kayakers take off from. Can you believe people kayak down this? And even in November, you can still see them going up and down the water. I imagine it to be really cold. I can only imagine cuz you won’t catch me in there.

A few weeks ago I went to Green Springs Garden from the recommendation of my friend, Daniela. I was so surprised to see these water lilies because they were so tall. They were almost as tall as me. The flowers were also kinda clumped in the middle of the water so it was hard to get close. I tried my best to step on rocks and things to get closer but if you were an observer watching me you would of seen this dark haired girl wobbling all over the place. In my head, I thought I was being aggressive in getting the shot I needed but in reality I probably looked a little drunk.
