Have you ever woke up in the morning and just knew it was going to be a good day? That’s what happened yesterday and this sunrise just confirmed it.
Lincoln Memorial
I took this shot right before I left to Philly. You know how it is before you leave for a trip. You get so busy running errands and making sure you have everything in order before you leave, so I didn’t have time to process any of these images.
I remember this being a super peaceful morning. I tried walking to the Lincoln Memorial a different way then I’m used to so I could see if I could find a new POV. Then I thought about the beautiful engraving on the steps. I was so concentrated on trying to get this shot, I didn’t even realize there were some army guys working out on the bottom of the steps. All of the sudden they all started charging up the steps. Well Good Morning to you guys too 😉
I love how atmospheric the snow makes the sky at night. It’s this beautiful red glow that makes everything look cooler.
I was hoping the colors in the sky would come over the bridge but it never did. Thought it was a pretty cool “peak-a-boo, I’m not going to see you” kind of image.
No, that’s not fog. I was walking around the Lincoln Memorial trying to find a cool image. I love how the snow has kind of blocked the Washington Monument and the image has really just become about the columns and the architecture.
As I was walking down the reflecting pool, I saw these ducks and thought that it was so cool that they were still in the reflecting pool swimming. They even had snow on their backs that they didn’t even seem to mind. Just kept on swimming along. So I set up my tripod really quickly and waiting for them to swim past me. And they would just keep swimming, just keep swimming.
