The first day we arrived in Cancun it rained a little bit. Not much to ruin our day, but it created some huge waves and left the sky really cloudy. I was hoping to get a nice sunset, but the clouds weren’t having it. It’s all good though because clouds look amazing in HDR. I love the drama that they bring.
Greetings from Cancun! I’m here on a long weekend having an amazing time with 2 good friends and birthday boy, Andrew. The weather is a little colder than expected, but almost 100% better than being in the cold in DC.
So far, we’ve hung out at the beach and spent the day at Xplor. I brought my gopro with me so expect a very cool vlog soon. My friends kinda made fun of me when I told them I had three different cameras with me, but what do they expect? Do you think that’s overboard?
I’ve been lucky enough to stay at the Venetian a few times while in Vegas and it never fails. I love the rooms. They are so comfortable and spacious. I could live there. OMG and how could I forget about the bathrooms! AMAZING!
But the lobby is something else! I love the gold and I love how regal you feel just walking down the hall. I was up pretty early to get some sunrise shots and as I was walking back to my room I noticed something was different. There was hardly anybody in the lobby. I had to take advantage of that time and snap this shot.
What’s your favorite Vegas hotel?
While I was standing on top of Federal Hill, I noticed how beautiful the sun was rising behind the Domino Sugar factory. Since I had dropped my zoom lens 🙁 I couldn’t get the shot I wanted from that far up. I was determined to find a better shot the next morning.
Luckily, while driving back to the hotel, I spotted the perfect spot. I love the light beams from the sun behind the factory. It’s like “Good Morning SUGAR!”
A few weeks ago, I was out in Meadowlark when it was kinda drizzling outside. It made for amazing macro shots like this one. Do you guys like shots like this? I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I really like taking close up shots. It’s like discovering a whole new world to photograph. Let me know your thoughts.
