Thank you all so much for the amazing feedback on the Vietnam Memorial image. It inspired me to head out to Iwo Jima this morning and I was really hoping for a great sunrise. The world has been too good to me this weekend.
So, I had another image planed for todays post, but I finally made out to sunrise this morning and it was AMAZING! So bump that other picture til Monday! Can you blame me?

Happy Weekend everyone!
Angela from the future: Thank you all so much for your support on this image. It’s amazing the response I’ve gotten from it. I really appreciate all your kind words! Here’s my reaction to the day.
It’s been so cold lately, especially at sunrise. The wind has been crazy and I hardly want to get out of bed. So, I haven’t been. Did you like my list of excuses? I’ll be out there again soon. Prom-prom!
Taken during a much warmer time, autumn, when all the leaves were falling.
This was taken 10 minutes before this image. Isn’t it crazy how much and how fast the sky changes?
To be honest, I wasn’t impressed with the sky this day. I thought it was going to be amazing because it had just the right amount of clouds to make the sky look interesting, but the sun made everything look really washed out while it was rising. So, I turned upstream and found better color.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I’ve been shooting a lot of the capitol because I’ve been looking for this shot! I wanted to get a wide angle shot of a beautiful sunrise. This image took patience though. About 4 “unsucessful” trips to the Capitol and waiting about 30 minutes for the sky to turn all these beautiful colors. I mean, when I first got there, there was nothing really worth photographing. I was even going to leave but then I saw the sky changing. I literally screamed in my head, “OMG TIE DYE”!
