It’s been such a mild winter with no snow (no I’m not bitter about the lack of snow) so its been pretty difficult to predict when the cherry blossoms are going to bloom. I kept on hearing from different sources different peak dates, so I decided that I was going to take a look for myself this morning. There were a few blooms but probably just a few more days until full bloom 🙂
Last year’s cherry blossoms 🙂
If you want to take similar pics like this, check out Capital Photo History Tours. March 24th we’ll be checking out the WWII memorial, WWI, MLK and ending at the tidal basin where the cherry blossoms are. April 1st will be exclusively cherry blossoms.
Taking this image took about an hour. At first, the sky wasn’t very exciting and pretty cloudy. I thought, “I’m already here, might as well as wait to see what happens”. About 20 minutes later all these colors started showing and the clouds started to part. I love days like this. It’s so exciting to see what’s going to happen.
So, it’s that time of the year again 🙂 Can’t wait! Facebook has been buzzing with all this cherry blossom talk and I want to be a part of it too!
To add to the conversation, I’d like to mention that Capitol Photo History Tours (led by Rick and I) is kicking off our first tour with the WWII memorial, WWI memorial, MLK and cherry blossoms! It’s going to be an awesome day.
