With all the rain and wind we’ve been getting the past couple of weeks, the tulips aren’t holding on as well as I thought they would be. It’s ok though because imperfection is just as beautiful.

Another reason to visit the National Portrait Gallery. This piece is so mesmerizing, it will make you stop as soon as you see it.
I’ve been to the National Portrait Gallery a few times. Its one of my favorites. Every time I go, I see something cool and I see something new. This past weekend I went with the instagram group, Walk with Locals and saw a whole new floor that I never knew existed. My mind was kinda blown.
I loved the series of images in the very back of this shot. A photographer took 30 years worth of images of these 4 sisters. So beautiful to see them grow and change. I wish I remembered to write down his name. I would of loved to look him up. I guess that’s an excuse to go back soon 🙂
I was suppperrrr jet lagged when we came back from Japan. I’d wake up around 4a everyday not knowing what to do. Usually I’d just lay in bed for a few hours hoping to fall back to sleep but one morning I decided to get up and check out the scene at the tidal basin. The cherry blossoms were peaking while we were gone, so I’m glad to have captured just the last bit of them before they all went away.
So the typical photo rule is that you avoid shooting in the middle of the day. Especially if you want long exposure shots of cool creeks like this. But thanks to my friend, Kyle who told me about this 10 stop filter he got from Amazon, I thought it would be the perfect time to test it out. It’s only 30 bucks and super fun to play with. I just kept it in my shirt pocket and it was so easy to take on and off. If you’re in the market to try out a new filter, I’d try this one.
Followed these storm clouds up until sunset. You can still kinda see the rain if you look into the horizon where there’s color. It definietly helps set the mood.
