The cool thing about President’s Day in Washington DC is that the Library of Congress opens it’s doors to the Main Reading Room for photographers and visitors to check out. Usually you can only view this room from above and behind a glass. Cameras are definitely not allowed in this room.
But it’s such a cool event to have the reading room open on President’s day. There was an author reading her poetry and so many people excited running around taking pictures. I happened to take 2 or 3 bookmarks from the library as a souvenir 🙂
Spent some time in the beautiful Library of Congress the other day. The first thing you notice when you walk into this building is the amazing gold color, light from all the windows and amazing detail. There is something beautiful to look at at every turn. I love visiting the Library and just sitting and enjoying the ambiance.
When you walk into the Library of Congress the first thing you see are these two gorgous stairways on the right and left side of the building. The miniature woman statute is right at the foot of the stairs and she makes a great centerpiece to the amazing library.
